Locals have alleged that the girl was raped and then murdered. However, Aligarh police claimed that there were no evidence of rape or injury marks on the body.

A dead body of an eight-year-old Dalit girl, who had gone to school from Yamuna Khadar village in Tappal area of Aligarh, was found in a paddy field filled with water at around 1 pm on Monday.
According to reports, villagers did not allow the dead body to be removed and demanded an FIR be registered. In some way, the police removed the dead body from the spot, then the angry villagers again placed the dead body on Tappal-Lalpur road.
Locals have alleged that the girl was raped and then murdered. However, police claimed that there were no evidence of rape or injury marks on the body.

Maneesh Kumar Shandilya, Khair circle officer said that the body has been sent for autopsy and we are inspecting all the possible angles into the alleged murder. He also said that FIR has not been registered so far and the postmortem report is awaited.
The Police said that the girl had gone to school at 9:00 am and was found dead at around 12:30 pm in a paddy field. Although, the school administration said that the girl did not come to school. Her school bag was spotted 100 meters away from the field where her body was found.
Aligarh ‘s Tappal is infamous for such incidence
This is not the first time, when such a sensational incident has happened in Tappal area. In the year 2019, similarly a two and a half year old girl went missing while playing outside the house. On the third day his body was found in the garbage in front of the house of accused in a neighboring street. Tappal had been smoldering for several days during this incident which made headlines across the country. The matter was settled after the arrest of the accused and financial help to the family after demonstration.
Apart from this, Tappal often remains in the limelight due to several incidents including Yamuna Expressway movement, Gyani murder among others.
