Aligarh: Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, a controversial Hindutva preacher, has been booked for calling for the demolition of Aligarh Muslim University and other Madrassa in the country with Barood (Gunpowder).
Yati Narsinghanand was in Aligarh on Sunday for a Hindu Mahasabha gathering. Yati Narsinghanand remarked there shouldn’t be an institution like a madrasa while discussing the Uttar Pradesh government’s current investigation into unrecognized Madrassa.
“All madrasas need to be blown up with gunpowder, as China does. All madrasa students should be taken to detention center so that they could get rid of the virus called Quran from their brains”, Yati Narsinghanand was heard speaking in a video.
In addition, Yati Narsinghanand said that just like Madrassah the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) be razed with gunpowder and its students should be taken to detention centers so that their brains get treated.
A case has been registered against Yati Narsighanand at the Gandhi Park police station for making offensive statements against the educational institutions of a certain group in Aligarh, according to Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh Gunawat.
Yati Narsinghanand has already been booked for hate speeches in different parts of the country. He was previously arrested in relation to the Haridwar hate speech case. Later, the Hindutva figure was released.
Recently, Yati Narsinghanand was arrested for uttering derogatory comments against Mahatma Gandhi. Yati Narsinghanand was heard claiming “Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the massacre of one crore Hindus” and other things in a video that went viral.
The question remains unanswered how long Muslim community needs to go through such humiliation? Why are serial hate speeches like Yati not leashed? Who is giving the impunity to question Islam and its ethos in the most brutal and mortifying way?
