AMU to File FIR Over Fake Messages Through Phony Email with VC’s Name

A notification from Aligarh Muslim University’s (AMU) Office of the Registrar warned the university community about certain miscreants impersonating AMU Vice Chancellor and sending malicious mails to students and other university staffs.

A notification from Aligarh Muslim University’s Office of the Registrar warned the university community about certain miscreants impersonating varsity Vice Chancellor Tariq Mansoor and sending malicious mails to students and other university staffs.

“The University administration plans to take legal action including a police complaint against some miscreants, who are sending fake messages through fake email IDs of the Vice Chancellor. All are requested not to pay attention to such fake emails,” said AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS).

The university is lodging an FIR with the local police to trace the culprits and prosecute them under the law.

Earlier too in April 2020, such incident was took place and the AMU administration had registered an FIR with the police.
