Pierre Zakrzewski, a Fox news journalist, was reporting with journalist Benjamin Hall near Horenka in Ukraine got Killed when their car came under fire on Monday, the Fox network said. He was 55.
Hall was hurt and sent to the hospital in an unknown condition.
“Pierre rushed in to assist out with all sorts of work in the field – photographer, engineer, editor, and producer, and he did it all under incredible pressure and with remarkable talent,” Fox News PR said in a statement.
“He was a professional, a journalist, and a buddy all rolled into one. The Fox News Channel extends its heartfelt sympathies to Pierre’s wife, Michelle, and his whole family.”
Suzanne Scott, the CEO of Fox News Media, confirmed Zakrzewski’s death on Tuesday, saying he was killed when a vehicle he was moving in with colleague Benjamin Hall came under fire.
Zakrzewski was remembered by Scott on Tuesday as a journalist who was “very devoted to reporting the story, and his fearlessness, professionalism, and work ethic were recognized among journalists at every media outlet”.

“He was incredibly well-known — anyone in the media who had covered a foreign story recognised and appreciated Pierre,” Scott recalled.
“There wasn’t a role in the field that he didn’t jump in to help with – from photographer to engineer to editing to producer,” Scott said about Zakrzewski’s abilities.
“He did it all under immense pressure with tremendous skill,” she said.
Scott described Zakrzewski as an experienced combat photographer who “covered practically every foreign story for Fox News from Iraq to Afghanistan to Syria.” Since February, he had been reporting from Ukraine.
Fews days ago another journalist, Brent Renaud, a 50-year-old filmmaker, was also killed by Russian forces in Ukraine.
