In a bid to communalise Uttar Pradesh’s environment ahead of state election, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that all preparations are in line to construct the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura.
On Wednesday, Maurya tweeted, “Ayodhya, Kashi Bhavya Nirman Jari hai… Mathura ki Tayari hai” (Marvelous construction in Ayodhya (Ram Janmabhoomi Temple) and Kashi is on. Now, preparations have begun for Mathura (Temple).
Maurya pinned this tweet on his profile as it went viral garnering more than 27 thousand likes and above 7 thousand retweets.
The tweet came in support of the threat by Hindu Mahasabha that announced that it will install a statue of Sri Krishna at the Shahi Idgah complex on December 6 — Babri Masjid demolition anniversary. Though, the Hindu Mahasabha has cancelled the plan to install statues at Shahi Idgah citing denial of permission for the same from the local administration.

Few days ago, Mathura police had imposed section 144 just after the announcement of statue installation was made by the Hindu Mahasabha. SSP of the area also spoke to the local public to work with the police to maintain law and order in the area. Administration also talked to the people from Muslim community of the area to instill the confidence in rule of law.
Senior BJP leader Raghuraj Singh also supported the tweet from Dy CM and said that Mathura is a sacred place for Hindus and “BJP is ready to sacrifice anything for it”. He further said that, “This is in our agenda. There is nothing to be surprised about. We will forcefully take back the possession of our god’s land illegally occupied by others.”
The Krishna Janmasthal controversy was first triggered off last year when a Lucknow based lawyer and five others filed a plea in Mathura district court claiming that Mathura’s 17th century Shahi Idgah is exactly at the same place where Sri Krisna was born.
Akhilesh Yadav, reacting to Maurya’s tweet said that No rath Yatra is going to help BJP win the UP election in 2022.
He said at his ‘Samajwadi Vijay Yatra’ in Mahoba, “BJP has the agenda of robbing the poor & filling the pockets of the rich, they have always worked to benefit the rich class. No Rath Yatra or new Mantra is going to help BJP in the upcoming polls”.
