AMU has suspended five of its security personnel after controversial slogans were found written on the boundary wall of VC house at the campus.

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has suspended five of its security personnel after controversial slogans were found written on the boundary wall of VC house at the campus.
On Wednesday, the university have also issued notice to three varsity students in this regard.
Photographs of the slogans went viral on the internet as well. On Sunday, the AMU administration discovered messages sprayed on the VC house walls.
The slogans mostly focused on the university’s delays in opening, stating that “although state elections and cultural events can take place at the varsity’s Kennedy auditorium and school, courses are still not being held due to Covid limitations.
According to a student who spoke to the Newster on the condition of anonymity, students are very angry with the vice-chancellor Tariq Mansoor alleging that he is unnecessarily keeping the varsity closed.
As of now, AMU is only open for Ph.D. scholars and masters’ final semester students.
Slogans such as “’AMU got CUET, VC got extension and you (students) got what?’, ‘Kennedy Hall mein events, classroom mein corona (sic)’, ‘AMU ko Deemak Lag Gayi and ‘VC wake up’ etc.” were found on Sunday.
Security personnel on duty have been suspended on grounds of “dereliction of duty,” according to the university’s proctor, Mohd Wasim Ali, and three students have been sent notifications to clarify their positions after their names came up during a preliminary investigation.
For the unversed, few days ago, the AMU VC got a one-year extension from the president. His tenure was about to end in May this year.
