Since its March 11 release, The Kashmir Files has become the subject of our talks. Supporters have flocked to the theatres, making it go bold on box office. Many Bollywood celebs have complimented the film and even encouraged viewers to attend a screening of The Kashmir Files. Aamir Khan is the most recent to go on board.
During a recent press conference, Aamir urged that every Indian should see The Kashmir Files.
Yesterday, March 20, Aamir Khan and Alia Bhatt attended a press conference for RRR in Delhi. Aamir was questioned about his thoughts on The Kashmir Files during the press conference.
Aamir told the media, “Ji zaroor dekhunga main…Wo ek history ka aisa hissa hain jo dil dukta hain usme…jo Kashmiri Pandits k sath hua hain, wo dukh ka baat hain…aur aise film jo bani hain uss topic pe woh yakennan har Hindustandi ko dekhna chaiye (Yes, I will definitely see. The story is a part of our history and whatever happened with the Kashmiri Pandits was really sad. Any film on such a topic must be seen by all Indians)”, India Today translated Aamir’s statement.
“This film has touched the hearts of all individuals who believe in humanity,” Aamir said, “and that is what is so lovely about it. I’ll absolutely watch the movie, and I’m glad to hear that it’s a success.”
The Kashmiri File talks about the Kashmiri pandits’ exodus in the wake militancy in the state. The film is vehemently criticised by viewers for deliberately manipulating the facts and pitching Muslim community in bad light.
Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha, the Hindi remake of The Forest Gump will be releasing on August 11, this year. The film was about to be released in April but was postponed as the film is still in its final stage.
