Yogi Adityanath, speaking at a gathering ahead of the Assembly elections next year, said that there was a time when people who said “Abba Jaan” (father) used to digest rations meant for the needy, but the BJP has put an end to appeasement politics in the nation.

On September 12, in a what it can be seen as an attempt to communalise environment just before UP elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that ‘before 2017, only those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ were able to digest ration meant for needy.’
Yogi Adityanath was in Kushinagar to lay the foundation stone for many projects in the district. CM Aditiyanath, speaking at a public gathering ahead of the 2022 elections here, took a dig at opposition parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party administration, by accusing them of corruption.
“Under PM Modi leadership, there is no place for appeasement politics…Before 2017 was everyone able to get ration?…. Earlier only those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ were digesting the ration”, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Kushinagar quoted by ANI.
He went on to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the country’s political agenda.
He said, “Earlier, our country was preoccupied with the politics of language, caste, ethnicity, and family. But PM Modi worked for the development of the poor, the farmers, people in rural areas, the youth and women. As a result, all people now are equal beneficiaries of this process of development and there is no place for appeasement.”

He added, “As long as there was politics of appeasement in this country, there was no development. Then we had only riots, corruption, anarchy and terrorism. Now we have Sab ka Saath, Saab ka Vikas, and so we enjoy everyone’s trust.”
Is it true that ‘Only those who said ‘Abba Jaan’ digested the ration’?
According to a report published by The Wire, “according to the 2011 Census, there are 15.9 crore Hindus in Uttar Pradesh and 3.84 crore Muslims. It is impossible, then, that the Samajwadi Party government issued ration cards only to Muslims – the numbers speak for themselves”.
Also there is no such reports or scheme that provided rations to people on the basis of their religion in any state of India.
Omar Abdullah Reacted To Yogi Adityanath ’s Remark
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah reacted angrily to Yogi Adityanath’s comments, saying the BJP cannot run for office without promoting “blatant communalism and hatred.”
He tweeted, “I’ve always maintained the BJP has no intention of fighting any election with an agenda other than blatant communalism & hatred with all the venom directed towards Muslims. Here is a CM seeking re-election claiming that Muslims ate up all the rations meant for Hindus.”
Not The First Time When Used The Word ‘Abba Jaan’ As Jibe For Mulayam Singh Yadav
Adityanath sparked a barrage of objections from the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the state legislative council earlier this year when he referred to the party’s founder Mulayam Singh Yadav as ‘Abba Jaan’. It is commonly used in Urdu (mostly by Muslims) as for ‘father’.
SP leaders reacted strongly to the CM’s remarks, accusing him of using “unparliamentary language.” However, Adityanath retaliated by asking when ‘Abba Jaan’ became “unparliamentary?”
