In the run up to Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election in early next year, the UP government decided to expand its cabinet on Sunday evening.
“Jitin Prasada was inducted as a Cabinet Minister while Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, Paltu Ram, Sanjeev Kumar, Dinesh Khatik and Dharmvir Singh — were administered oath as Ministers of State (MoS)”, the Indian Express reported.
Who is Sangeeta Balwant?
BJP MLA from Ghazipur Sadar Sangeeta Balwant also took oath as minister. Her name has started coming in the discussion from Sunday afternoon, after which excitement in Ghazipur increased. A crowd of supporters started gathering at his residence.
Sangeeta Balwant Bind was born in Ghazipur city itself. His father himself Ramsurat Bind was a postman. Sangeeta has been fond of studies and poetry in her student life. She also shown her interest keen interest in politics as early as in her student life.

She has also been the Vice President of the PG College, Ghazipur Students Union. She was also a panchayat member from Ghazipur’s Zamania. Sangeeta Balwant is married to Dr. Awadhesh, a homoeopathic doctor resident of Zamania town.

Sangeeta Balwant comes from the Bind community which has large number in Ghazipur and its adjoining area. Yogi government must be eying to lure straighten the caste equation in the area by appointing her just months before UP election.
Apart for Balwant, many others have joined the cabinet. At present, there are 23 cabinet ministers in Uttar Pradesh, 21 minister of states and 9 with independent charge.
Uttar Pradesh will undergo a decisive poll next year. The election is important not just for Uttar Pradesh, but also for the BJP at the centre. Any loss to BJP in Uttar Pradesh would indicate BJP’s failure at the centre also.
