Former Union Minister and and BJP MP form West Bengal’s Asansol Babul Supriyo has quit politics. He has written a post on social media saying that he came to politics only for social service. Now he has decided to change his path.
He said that there is no need to be in politics to serve the people. He can fulfil that purpose even keeping distance from politics. It has also been emphasized from his side that he has always been and will be a part of BJP.
For the past few days, many questions were being raised on Babul Supriyo’s silence and his diminishing role in BJP. There was speculation that Suoriyo might take some big decision. Now through his social media posts, Babul has talked in detail on all those controversies. He has said that I had some differences with the party. I also take responsibility for the defeat, but other leaders are also responsible.
Babul Supriyo has also mentioned that he wanted to leave the party for a long time. He had already made up his mind that he no longer wants to stay in politics. But the BJP President JP Nadda asked me to keep my decision on hold therefore he had withdrawn his decision of leaving the party earlier.
In the recent cabinet shuffle of the Modi government, Supriyo was not given any place. He had to resign from his post. Since then it was predictedthat Supriyo might resign from the party.
