News of Cows dying from the lumpy virus is now reached approximately everyone in the country but not those who have been politicizing the very existence of cows.
I think their preference has changed now. It’s Cheetah. Yes, the Namibian wild beast has taken over our desi cows. That’s the reason that we can’t hear a word from the best orators in the world about what the cows in India are going through.
What is Lumpy Virus?
An infectious condition known as a lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle is brought on by the Neethling virus, a member of the Poxviridae family of viruses. It is an infectious disease, which is transmitted from one animal to another. Experts say that this disease is caused by a virus called Capri Poxvirus.
Fever, swollen superficial lymph nodes, and nodules (2–5 centimeters in diameter) on the skin and mucous membranes, particularly those of the respiratory and digestive tracts, are symptoms of the illness.
If sources are to be believed, the antidote to this deadly virus has not yet been prepared, due to which a large number of cattle have died. This skin disease is also called the ‘nodular skin disease virus’.
As expected, the government led by all hail Hindu Hriday Samrat Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in the city of lord Shiva that “cow is mother and sacred to many people” could not speak a word on the brutal death of the cows. Yes, Mr Modi said cow is mother to many people! Yes, many people but not to the people of BJP which clearly explains their silence over the uncountable deaths of “our mother” cow.
The other day, I was roaming around the campus and witnessed many cows infected with the lumpy virus. It is not that hard to recognize cows who have been infected with the virus. The infected cows have hundred of nodules on their body are a bit slow, lethargic and probably waiting for death if not treated in time.
The condition of the cow reminds me of Covid-19 days when the government was in ostrich policy over the death of Indians from covid-19. At that time, we witnessed human bodies, dead of Covid lying unattended on the banks of the Ganges. (Intentionally, not sharing pictures as it is too heartwrenching.)
The same picture can be seen approximately in any part of India replacing the human body with cow’s body. The body of an animal that l is believed to be the mother of “many people”.
