Twitter is bombarded with tweets under the hashtag ‘#IndiaAgainstBJP Loot’ today after subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder shot up by 25 rupees. Now, a gas cylinder will cost you 884.50 rupees in Delhi.
This is not the first time when the gas cylinder price has been increased. On August 18, cylinder price was increased by 25 rupees. And yet again on July 1, it was increased by another 25 rupees.
In Kolkata, same gas cylinder will now cost you 911 rupees and 900 in Chennai.

Taking dig at Modi’s government, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi wrote on his tweeter wall in Hindi that, “Bahut hua janta par Modijee ka Atyachaar, Abki bar LPG Hazar paar” (Too Much of Modiji’s atrocities on Janta, Now LPG, over 1000 rupees).
Another Congress leader, Ruchira Chaturvedi satirically thanked PM Modi for increasing gas price, she wrote on her twitter wall., “In just 2021, the price of LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs. 190. ‘Thank you, Modi ji!’.”
Many other twitteratti are agitating against the gas price hike. Some of them are searching for BJP leader Smriti Irani who was quite vocal against the gas price hike during UPA government, but now she is silence as cold.
