The candidates who have been denied admission to PhD courses at the different departments of Jamia Millia Islamia have written to the Prime Minister Office requesting his intervention into the alleged PhD scam across the university.

Many selected PhD candidates were denied admission on September 12 when they reached their concerned departments following the result notices.

The university did not provide any specific reason for canceling the admission of selected PhD candidates.

Jamia announced the final PhD results for the session 2021-22 on August 11 and invited the selected candidates to visit the concerned depart on August 24.

However, the admission date was postponed twice— first to September 7 and again to September 12.

When students reached the department on September 12, they were told that their admission has been canceled.

The candidates also tried to know the reason for their admission cancellation but the varsity could not specify any reason.

Earlier, candidates have also complained about their concerns with the University Grant Commission.

The entrance examination for the PhD was conducted on May 27, 2022, and an interview along with synopsis defense was held between July 17-19.
