As claimed by the farmers, the three-farm bill favours corporate houses and does not assure maximum retail price (MSP) for farmers.
In January 2021, the supreme court of India has stayed the three contentious laws and formed a committee to look into the grievances pertaining to the farm laws.
Various opposition parties have extended their full support to Farmers’ protest and demanded the nullification of the laws and guarantee the farmers with MSP.
Ever since the protest began in September 2020, more than 500 deaths have been reported related to the farmers’ protest.
