Police said today that a man was arrested in Greater Noida a day before his wedding for lying to his bride-to-be about who he was and his religion. Haseen Saifi told the woman that he was Ashish Thakur, but on Sunday, his lie was found out. Monday was the day of their wedding, according to media reports. The woman, who lives in Uttarakhand, told the police that the man forced her to change her religion, raped her, and lied to her.
When they were both living in Dadri, which is part of Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the accused became friends with the woman. He allegedly took advantage of the fact that the woman lost her job to get closer to her. Then, he moved in with her in a rented flat in Escort Colony in Dadri in XXX (Delhi or UP?).

Dinesh Kumar, who is the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Greater Noida, said that the accused man had a sexual relationship with the woman. Police say that Haseen Saifi also made obscene videos of her and tried to force her to marry him.
The woman found out who Haseen was when his father, Shakeel Saifi, came to their apartment to look for him on Sunday, a day before their wedding. Since the couple wasn’t at home, his father went to the neighbours to find out where his son was. Mr. Saifi was told that it wasn’t his son Haseen who lived there, but someone named Ashish.
When the woman found out that Haseen Saifi had lied to her, she refused to marry him and went to the police. He was put in jail.
