MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team.
One pf the most successful captain in the history Indian Premiere League (IPL), Mahendra Singh Dhoni now picks Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team from onwards.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), in a statement said, “MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team.”
“Jadeja, who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will only be the third player to lead CSK”, the statement added.
“Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond,” the defending chapmion said in the statement.
The news comes only two days before CSK face Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the 12 seasons that he has captained CSK, Dhoni, who was signed as the team’s icon player in the first season in 2008, has guided the team to four titles. CSK established themselves as the most consistent franchise in the league under Dhoni’s leadership, qualifying for the play-offs in all but one season.
CSK have retained MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the IPL 2022 season.
