The bangle seller who recently was publicly thrashed by a violent mob in Madhya Pradesh I now booked under POCSO and other acts Indian Penal Code after a class 6th girl alleged him of molesting her.
Indore SP Ashutosh Bagri has said, on a complaint from the victim girl, the bangle seller has been booked for allegedly sexually harassing minor girl. The seller who has been identified as Tasleem has been booked under relevant sections of POCSO.
The police said that the man was caught with two Adhaar cards bearing the name of Tasleem s/o Mohar Ali and Asleem s/o Mor Singh. The charges of forging document and other relevant sections 354, 354 (a), 420, 467, 468, & 471 of IPC have also been levelled against him.
Earlier the video of Tasleem had gone viral in which he was being thrashed in broad day light in Madhya Pradesh’s Banganga area in Indore which created row of controversies and people on internet criticised the Madhya Pradesh government for allowing such impunity to miscreants in the state.

Following the matter, state’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra seemingly tried to justify the thrashing by saying, “If a man hides his name, caste and religion then bitterness comes in”, as reported by the NDTV.
The Minister also requested people to refrain from giving communal colour to the matter.
He added that, “He (Tasleem) was using a Hindu name, though he belonged to a different community. He also had two different Aadhaar cards… he was selling bangles which our daughters wear and apply henna during sawan (monsoon)… that’s how the altercation started”.
“The accused first asked my name and started beating once I revealed it. They also robbed the ₹ 10,000 that I was carrying and broke the bangles and other material that I had” said Tasleem in his complaint to the police.
National Chairman of INC Minority section Imran Pratapgarhi said while posting the video, “this video is not from Afghanistan, it is from Indore. It is Madhya Pradesh of Shivraj Singh’s dream where a Muslim bangle seller gets lynched.”
