In the run up to Uttar Pradesh Election next year, Congress has started its preparation in the state. Party leader Salman Khurshid has said that Congress will contest elections in UP under the leadership of General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and later she can announce the CM face.
Salman Khurshid is in Agra on a party assignment pertaining to Uttar Pradesh Election.

Who will be the CM face of Congress in UP elections? Talking to the media on Sunday, Salman Khurshid clarified that the party has not yet decided the CM face in UP, but it is clear that the party will field candidates on all 403 seats. Salman further said, ‘Congress will not tie up with anyone in the UP elections. Party workers will go to every area and listen to the problems of the people.
Salman Khursheed is tasked to talk the public and understand their problems so that an effective manifesto can be created.
Salman said that the manifesto of the Congress party will not be prepared on the advice of experts, but it will talk about the general issues of the locals. Khursheed told the media that he along with other party workers have visited Ayodhya, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, etc.
The problems raised by the people will also be looked into. Khurshid said that people in Agra are worried about the rising electricity prices.
