The Times Higher Education World University Rankings has released its latest global university ranking putting the United Kingdom’s Oxford University at the top of the index.
In the ranking, the United States of America and the United Kingdom have totally dominated the top rankings. Among the top ten, 8 university hail from the United States only. UK’s University of Oxford has got the top rank and University of Cambridge is at the fifth place.
In total, 57 universities for the Unites States were able to make place in the list while, 28 from the United Kingdom and 22 from Germany got place in the index.

More than 1600 universities from 99 countries were the parts of this year’s ranking. In Asia, China’s Peking University is positioned at 16th rank that is China’s highest ever ranking as of now at the global competition.

The University of Oxford was declared number one for the 6th consecutive year in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is the most prominent index that judge universities at the global level. The ranking takes 13 performance indicators into consideration while making the index.
The performance indicator is divided into five categories— “Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry income (knowledge transfer)”, according to the timeshighereducation.com.
