Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said that Russia is attacking country’s “military infrastructure” and border guards, but has urged Ukrainians not to be frightened and has promised victory.

Zelenskuyy also announced martial law across the country in a video statement uploaded on Facebook.

Russian defence officials have also stated that precise weapons are being used to target Ukrainian military facilities.

“High-precision weapons are being used to destroy military infrastructure, air defence installations, military airfields, and aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the defence ministry said in a statement reported by Russian news media.
