The full cast of Marvel’s forthcoming flick “Thunderbolts” has been revealed. It’s said to be Marvel’s response to “Suicide Squad,” with a squad of criminals and not-quite-heroes inspired by a similar team from Marvel Comics.
The cast includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/US Agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ava/Ghost), and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier) in a new picture. Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) has also been confirmed. Eric Pearson (“Black Widow”) will write the script.
At the D23 Expo, a concept depiction of the characters in costume, with Pugh’s Yelena front and centre, was unveiled. Taskmaster is also shown in the artwork. Baron Zemo was reported to appear, although he is not on the official squad.
Dreyfus made her film debut as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and she also featured in a “Black Widow” post-credits scene. She’s also known as Madame Hydra in the comics. Wyatt Russell featured in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” as well. In “Black Widow,” Harbour played Red Guardian, while John-Kamen played Ghost in “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” Taskmaster, a.k.a. Antonia Dreykov in the MCU, was played by Olga Kurylenko in “Black Widow,” although her return for “Thunderbolts” has not been confirmed.
“Thunderbolts” will bring the MCU’s Phase 5 to a clos on July 26, 2024. It will go into production next year.
