The Kashmir Files: These men, speaking in different videos, categorically used the film to gain momentum for the ruling party BJP by alleging opposition parties of being silent over Rohingya.

“Don’t watch Bollywood movies, especially of Khans — Amir Khan, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan”, a man was filmed urging people in an unidentified cinema hall where ‘the Kashmir Files’ was seemingly being played amid resounding chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’ and ‘Vande Mataram’.
He went on to say that, “You are destroying Indian culture (by watching Bollywood films)”.
Parts of the video is in such a profane language that it can’t be transcribed due to journalistic ethics.

These men, speaking in different videos, categorically used the film to gain momentum for the ruling party BJP by alleging opposition parties of being silent over Rohingya.
In another video shared by Alt News journalist Mohammad Zubair, people in a unidentified theatre, can be seen chanting “Desh ke Gaddaro ko, Goli Maro Salo ko”. The chant was first used by Union Minister Anurag Thakur rallying call for killing Gaddaron (read Muslims) before Delhi assembly election in 2020. Following the calls by the Thakur, East Delhi saw a disturbing massacre in which dozens of people were killed, most of them were from Muslim community.
“I request all Hindus to stay vigilante and keep distance from them (Muslims) as they can attack anytime”, said another man who was coming out of theatre after watching The Kashmir Files.
“We will be killed just like that (pointing finger at the screen) till they (Hindus) are secular”, said another man in a viral video. “After Kashmir, Next is Kerala then and West Bengal (states where BJP is not in power). You have already seen East BJP riots where a 16-year-old youth was axed just like that”, man said pointing finger at screen.
Since the released of the film, it has been used as weapon against the opposition parties and Muslims for allegedly killing Hindus and displacing them. “For the first time, a movie based on an extreme tragedy & exodus of Kashmiri Pandits is being weaponised to create hatred against the opposition & Muslim minorities. Instead of reconciliation & justice, this is the alarming sentiment that’s being wildly reinforced”, Muhammad Zubair tweeted.
Another video surfaced with the same sentiments against Muslims. Men standing at an unidentified theatre can be seen chanting “Jage the jab Partap / Shivaji, Maar bhagaye Mulla, Qazi (words used to denote Muslims) … Jago to ek baar Hindu jago toh”.
