Timothée Chalamet spoke at length about the negative side effects of social media on our daily life during his film promotion at the Venice Film Festival.

Chalamet opened up during the press conference for his new movie, “Bones and All,” about his thoughts on social media and the harm he thinks it has wrought.

The Dune actor said that he is grateful that he was born at a time when social media was not much popular.

Fox News quoted Mr. Timothée Chalamet saying, “To be young now, and to be young whenever—I can only speak for my generation—is to be intensely judged.”

He further added, “I can’t imagine what it is to grow up with the onslaught of social media,” as per Fox News.

He says that he does not agree with the idea of filtering ourselves through the lenses of social media.

In his opinion, there are positive things about social media, but there is a lot more negativity that will, eventually, impact us as a society.

His new movie is set in the 1980s, a time before social media and when individuals were not constantly bombarded with other people’s thoughts.

Chalamet acknowledged that it was liberating to live a life free of concern about maintaining his online persona.
