Hindi is the fourth most widely spoken language in the world after English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
The Indian Constitution officially recognised Hindi on January 26, 1950. Since that time, September 14 has been designated as Hindi Diwas.

Beohar Rajendra Simha is known for his Devnagri art in the original final draft of the Indian Constitution.
In accordance with Article 343, Hindi was declared the national tongue of India.
Bihar became the first state in India to embrace Hindi when it replaced Urdu as its only official language in 1881.
