Meta has suspended influencer Andrew Tate from Facebook and Instagram for breaking its rules.
The former kickboxer gained notoriety in 2016 after being fired from the reality TV program Big Brother due to a video that claimed to show him assaulting a woman.
He later gained prominence online for misogynist statements and was banned from Twitter for saying women should “carry responsibility” for being sexually assaulted.

At the time his Instagram account was deleted, he had 4.7 million followers.
From a little over a million followers in June, that number increased quickly.
Meta stated that the kickboxing sensation had been removed from its platforms due to a violation of its standards regarding dangerous organizations and people, but it made no further mention of this.
