Parag Agrawal who is going to be the new Chief Executive Officer of micro blogging site Twitter after Jack Dorsey resigned from the post few hours back.
Dorsey, who is also a co-founder of Twitter has decided to step down as company’s CEO in order to pursue other feats.
Board member and ex Chief Technology Officer, Parag Agrawal has been appointed as new CEO of the company meanwhile Dorsey will continue to be the member of the board until next year, the company informed.
“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders,” Dorsey said in a statement released by Twitter. “My trust in Parag as Twitter’s CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I’m deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It’s his time to lead”, Dorsey said.

Parag joined the company in October 2011 as a distinguished software engineer. Parag completed his PhD in Computer Science from US’ Stanford University. Parag has also served Microsoft and Yahoo! as intern while he was studying in Stanford University.
Parag took his graduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
In December 2019, Parag was appointed the head of Project BlueSky — “an independent team of open-source architects, engineers and designers to develop an open and decentralized standard for social media that would help better control abusive and misleading information on Twitter.”
“Prior to being appointed CEO, Parag had risen to be Twitter’s first Distinguished Engineer due to his work across revenue and consumer engineering, including his impact on the re-acceleration of audience growth in 2016 and 2017”, Parag’s twitter bio read.
