
WI vs ENG — All-rounder Rovman Powell’s explosive century (107) and lethal bowling from Romario Shepherd (3 for 59) helped West Indies beat England by 20 runs in the third high-scoring T20I here on Wednesday in the five-match series.
Taking a 2-1 lead, the visiting team England won the toss and decided to bowl first. Everything was fine until the West Indies fell for two wickets at 48 in 5.2 overs, but England’s decision was proved wrong when the host West Indies made a tremendous comeback with the explosive innings of experienced batsmen Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell. A 122-run partnership for the third wicket in the middle made a huge total of 224 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, England also tried their best to win, but they could only make 204 runs in 20 overs with the loss of nine wickets and incurred defeat by 20 runs.

For West Indies, Powell scored 107 runs in 53 balls with the help of four fours and 10 sixes and Pooran scored 70 runs in 43 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes. Powell was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his match-winning century.
West Indies, at the bowling front, right-arm fast bowler Romario Shepherd notched three wickets giving off 59 runs in four overs and captain Kieron Pollard (2 for 31 in four overs), while Sheldon Cottrell, Jason Holder and Akil Hossain took one wicket each.
At the same time for England, wicket-keeper batsman Tom Banton played a blistering innings of 73 runs in 39 balls with the help of three 4s and six 6s. Apart from him, Philip Salt, scored 57 runs in just 24 balls in his T20 debut with the help of three 4s and five 6s. In bowling Reece Topley, George Garten, Tymal Mills, Liam Livingstone and Adil Rashid took a wicket each.
The fourth match of the series will be played between the two teams on Saturday.
