From Couple Goals to Splits Ville: What Asim Azhar’s Breakup Teaches Us
We’ve all been there, let’s face it. When your favorite famous couple splits up, you start to wonder if love still exists. Asim Azhar broke our hearts all together this week when he revealed that he and his fiancée were broke up.
We’ve all been there, let’s face it. When your favorite famous couple splits up, you start to wonder if love still exists. Asim Azhar broke our hearts all together this week when he revealed that he and his fiancée were broke up.
Admittedly, I texted my best friend right away after seeing the Instagram post: *”NO.” NOT THEM. “Why does God despise love? Because when the internet breaks bad news at eleven o’clock at night, that’s what most people do, right?
The News That Made Our Week Unfun
In a concise and elegant post, Asim essentially stated: “We tried, it didn’t work out, let’s all move on.” Naturally, though, we’re not going anywhere. Every word is being examined as though it were a Shakespearean tragedy.
The comments section was just that, as one might expect:
The upset fans: “I’m crying in the club right now”
The idealistic romantics: “Maybe they’ll get back together?”
The fans of DE lulu: “Asim, if you’re single, I’m available”
Why Are We Even Concerned?
The problem is that we were not personally acquainted with these individuals. We have never had dinner at their house. But for some reason, their split feels like our concern. Why? Due to:
1. Through thoughtfully chosen Instagram posts, we made an investment in their love story.
2. It allows us to project our own relationship anxieties.
3. In our hearts, we’re all anticipating the inevitable dramatic breakup song.
The Real Tea (Or not)
Everyone wants to know what went wrong, of course. Was it his hectic tour schedule?
The strain of being a famous couple?
He liked a girl’s 2017 photo once?
The truth? We probably won’t ever know. In all honesty, it should be that way. Some things are private, even if you’re famous.
What This Means for Us Regular People
Let’s take a moment to admire how Asim handled this: Just maturity and respect, please. No cryptic Instagram stories or messy subtweets.
The majority of us have former partners who have yet to return our most treasured 2019 hoodie.
The bright side: There’s new music!
Let’s not pretend that we haven’t already imagined the incredible heartbreak song that this will inspire. Asim is going to release the musical version of that text you write at two in the morning but never send. We’ll all be yelling the lyrics and sobbing in our cars as it’s called “Tum Na Mile” or “Bhool Jaana”.
Concluding Remarks (From One Heartbroken Fan to Another)
Whether you’re a well-known singer or just someone who sobs while listening to “Jo Tu Na Mila” repeatedly, breakups are terrible in the end. However, we do know this:
Public relationships are more difficult; love is complex; and good music is born out of suffering.
As we all feel depressed today, keep in mind that this means Asim’s upcoming album will be a huge hit.
As a normal, well-adjusted adult, I must go listen to depressing music and obsessively examine old couple photos.
